“They may be small but their contribution to our lifting projects is huge,” says Keith Evans, Director, Evans Canlines Ltd.
Evans Canlines is a leading provider of comprehensive production line machinery solutions and production support for the metal packaging industry based in the UK and operating globally. With an established reputation for delivering complete engineering support projects from start to finish, including maintenance upgrades and repairs, testing and calibration and skilled production line support, common factors are the moving and installation of heavy machinery.
Evans Canlines began using 30 Tonne capacity Tangye toe/claw jacks 10 years ago. Typically, four Tangye jacks are taken on each job. They fulfil an important role where no other lifting system can be used.
Recently Evans Canlines completed the installation of a 5m high, 46 Tonne aluminium press to a new site in Germany. Laid on its back, the press was delivered to the site on a flatbed trailer. Tandem cranes were used to lift and upend the press onto wooden blocks allowing four Tangye Hydralite Claw / Toe Jacks to lift the press so that machine skates could be positioned under it for the move into the factory. Once skated into the final position in the factory, the Tangye toe jacks lifted the press, to allow the skates to be removed and press installed.
